The plot centers around Jeff, who is put through a series of tests by Jigsaw after his son is killed by a drunk driver, in an attempt to make him release his thirst for vengeance. In the meantime, Jigsaw's apprentice, Amanda Young, kidnaps Dr. Lynn Denlon to keep Jigsaw alive for a final test before he dies.

Following the success of Saw II, the sequel was promptly green-lit, and filming occurred in Toronto from May to June 2006. The film is dedicated to producer Gregg Hoffman, who passed away on December 4, 2005.

Lionsgate released Saw III in the United States on October 27, 2006, and it was a financial triumph, generating $33.6 million on its opening weekend and grossing $80.2 million in the United States and Canada. Saw III was released on DVD and Blu-ray on January 23, 2007, and debuted at the top of the charts, selling 2.5 million copies in its first week. A sequel, Saw IV, was released in 2007.

Saw III Plot:

Saw III is a horror movie that revolves around the twisted games orchestrated by the notorious Jigsaw killer and his apprentice, Amanda Young. The movie starts with Detective Eric Matthews, who is trapped in a bathroom and manages to break his foot with a toilet lid to escape his shackle. Six months later, a SWAT team discovers a victim who had to rip chains from his body to escape a bomb, breaking Jigsaw's modus operandi. Detective Allison Kerry arrives at the scene and is abducted while reviewing the videotape. She is killed when she fails to remove the harness hooked into her ribs.

Dr. Lynn Denlon is then abducted and brought to John Kramer, who is bedridden. John's apprentice, Amanda Young, locks a shotgun collar around Lynn's neck that is connected to John's heart rate monitor and will detonate if John dies or Lynn moves out of range. Amanda instructs Lynn to keep John alive until another victim completes his game. The other victim is Jeff, who must undergo tests that lead him to the man who killed his son in a drunk driving accident. Jeff's tests involve rescuing witnesses to the accident who refused to testify in court.

In Jeff's final test, he is given the opportunity to kill the killer of his son, Timothy Young. Jeff retrieves the key tied to an enclosed shotgun and accidentally kills Judge Halden in the process. Meanwhile, Lynn is forced to perform an improvised surgery to relieve pressure on John's brain with a conventional drill. Amanda grows increasingly jealous of Lynn's interaction with John and shoots Lynn just as Jeff arrives. Jeff retaliates by killing Amanda and John offers Jeff one final test: he can choose to kill John or forgive him. Jeff tells John he forgives him, but then kills him with a power saw. John reveals that Jeff failed his final test, as John was the only person who knew the whereabouts of Jeff's daughter, and Lynn's collar detonates, killing her.

The movie explores themes of vengeance, forgiveness, and the consequences of actions. Saw III follows a gruesome storyline of tests and games that Jigsaw and his apprentice, Amanda Young, orchestrate. Some victims are able to survive, while others are not so lucky. The movie is a twisted tale of horror that is not for the faint of heart.
