Saw II (2005)
Saw II, a horror film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, is the second
installment in the Saw series. It delves into the backstory of John
Kramer, providing an explanation for his transformation into Jigsaw. The
script was originally written by Bousman, who later collaborated with
Leigh Whannell to refine it. Despite mixed reviews, Saw II was a huge
financial success, grossing $88 million in the US and Canada alone.
Tobin Bell's portrayal of Jigsaw earned him a nomination for "Best
Villain" at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards. Upon its DVD release, Saw II sold
over 3 million units in its first week, making it the fastest-selling
theatrical DVD in Lions Gate's history.
