Annabelle: Creation 2017
Annabelle: Creation is a 2017 American supernatural horror film that serves as a prequel to 2014's Annabelle and the fourth installment in the Conjuring Universe franchise. It was directed by David F. Sandberg, written by Gary Dauberman, and produced by Peter Safran and James Wan.
The film stars Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Anthony LaPaglia, and Miranda Otto, and tells the origin story of the possessed Annabelle doll. The movie began production in June 2016 and concluded in August of the same year in Los Angeles, California.
Annabelle: Creation premiered at the LA Film Festival on June 19, 2017, and was released theatrically in the United States on August 11, 2017. The movie grossed over $306 million worldwide and received critical acclaim for its atmosphere, acting, and Sandberg's direction, with critics noting it as a significant improvement over its predecessor.
A sequel, Annabelle Comes Home, was released on June 26, 2019, further expanding the Conjuring Universe franchise.
