A Quiet Place Part II is a 2020 horror film that serves as a sequel to the successful 2018 movie, A Quiet Place. The film was written and directed by John Krasinski and stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, reprising their respective roles from the first film. Notably, Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou also joined the cast.
Development for the sequel began in April 2018, shortly after the first film's box office success, with Paramount Pictures spearheading production. By August of the same year, Krasinski started writing the script, and in February 2019, he was hired to direct. Filming took place in Western New York from June to September 2019.
The movie premiered in New York City on March 8, 2020, and was set for a theatrical release on September 4, 2020. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Paramount postponed the release after initially planning to unveil the movie in late March 2020. Despite the setback, the studio remains committed to bringing the film to theaters once it is deemed safe to do so.
