Top Gun: Maverick is an American action drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and Christopher McQuarrie. The story was developed by Peter Craig and Justin Marks. The movie serves as a sequel to the 1986 hit film, Top Gun, and features a star-studded cast including Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer. Cruise and Kilmer will be reprising their roles from the original movie.
Initially set to release on December 23, 2020, by Paramount Pictures, the film's release was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Premise
After three decades of serving as a top Navy aviator, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) remains a test pilot, avoiding promotion to continue pushing the boundaries of aviation. When he's assigned to train a group of Top Gun graduates for a groundbreaking mission, Maverick meets Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of Maverick's late friend and former Radar Intercept Officer, "Goose". As he confronts his past and faces an uncertain future, Maverick must confront his deepest fears in a mission that will require the ultimate sacrifice from those who undertake it.
