"Insidious" is a 2010 supernatural horror film directed by James Wan.
The story revolves around a family that has recently moved into a new
house. One night, the youngest son, Dalton, falls into an inexplicable
coma after being frightened by something in the attic. Three months of
treatment yield no results, and the family begins to experience
paranormal activity. Renai, the mother, hears voices over the baby
monitor, and the home's security alarm is repeatedly triggered. They
abandon the house and move elsewhere, but the supernatural activity
follows them. The mother seeks help from psychic Elise Rainier and
paranormal investigators Specs and Tucker, who explain that Dalton has
the ability to travel mentally to the astral plane. He has traveled too
far and is lost in a purgatory realm called "The Further," a place
inhabited by tortured souls. His body appears comatose and spirits can
use it to enter the physical world. To rescue Dalton, Josh, the father,
must go into The Further. He enters the demon's lair and frees Dalton,
but they are caught by the demon while the spirits of The Further invade
the real world. After escaping, Josh confronts the old woman that
haunted him as a child, who dissolves into darkness. In the end, Elise
senses that Josh has been possessed, and he strangles her to death. An
after-the-credits scene shows the old woman blowing out her candle. Insidious 2010 Plot:
