Annabelle Comes Home is a horror film that came out in 2019. It was directed by Gary Dauberman, who also wrote the script with James Wan. Wan and Peter Safran produced the movie. The film is the seventh in the Conjuring Universe franchise, and it follows on from the events of the movies Annabelle and Annabelle: Creation. The cast includes Mckenna Grace, Madison Iseman, and Katie Sarife, as well as Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who play their characters from the previous films, Ed and Lorraine Warren. In April 2018, Warner Bros. announced that a new movie in the Conjuring Universe franchise would be released in July 2019. The film was later revealed to be Annabelle Comes Home, and Dauberman was chosen to write and direct the movie as his directorial debut. The movie's story was based on a treatment written by Dauberman and Wan. Filming began in October 2018 and ended in December of the same year in Los Angeles. Annabelle Comes Home was released in theaters in the US on June 26, 2019. The film grossed over $231 million worldwide but received mixed reviews from critics, who felt that it was not as scary as some of the earlier movies in the franchise.

Plot

Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are demonologists, take away the Annabelle doll from nurses Debbie and Camilla. They claim that the doll often did violent things in their apartment. While Ed drives back home, the doll calls up spirits to attack him, but he narrowly escapes. They lock Annabelle in a sacred glass case in their artifacts room, which is blessed by Father Gordon to contain the evil.

Later on, the Warrens hire Mary Ellen to babysit their daughter, Judy, while they travel to investigate another case. Judy sees the spirit of a priest following her at school. Mary Ellen's friend Daniela arrives uninvited to the Warrens' home and sneaks into the artifacts room to contact her late father. She leaves Annabelle's case unlocked, and Annabelle's evil spirit is unleashed.

Annabelle releases other spirits that terrorize the girls throughout the night. Mary Ellen's crush Bob Palmeri is attacked by one of the spirits and hides in the Warrens' backyard. Daniela is locked inside the room and tormented by various objects. She finds the Mourner's Bracelet and sees her father twisted into a malevolent spirit. Eventually, the girls find the doll and manage to put it back in the case, stopping the disturbances.

When Ed and Lorraine return the next morning, the girls tell them about the eventful night. Daniela apologizes to Lorraine, who gives her a comforting message from her father. Later, they celebrate Judy's birthday party with friends.
